Home Freshness Tip: Fresh Flowers and Potpourri

Hello Ghana!  My name is Daphne, and I am back with your daily dose of real estate tips.

As cliché as this might be, fresh flowers do add a therapeutic natural scent to the ambience. Roses, lilies, plumeria, queen of the night, or whatever you like really, there are varieties of assortments to choose from.

If you happen to have roses in a vase, when the roses have withered, do not throw them out remove them from the vase, pluck the petals and place them in a bowl and discard the stems. Crush them a little and place them in a neat bowl in a central place in your house. This is called potpourri.  Not only do they smell good, but they also look good when thoughtfully placed

Home freshness Tips: Cheapest Ways to Freshen up your Home

Hello Ghana!  My name is Daphne, and I am back with your daily dose of real estate tips.

Earlier this week, I shared tips on applying vinegar and baking soda to freshen up your homes, but before that, there is something you need to do first:

Open the windows and let the fresh air indoors. Especially for those of you who have sliding windows and mostly use ACs in your homes.  This is the most obvious and least expensive way to freshen your house. The air in your home can become stale if the house is closed up all the time. Open the windows and let the fresh air circulate through your home. Even a few minutes of fresh air helps remove stale odours.

The next obvious thing to do is to Clean regularly. You don’t have to clean the whole house from top to bottom each day but keep floors clean and wipe up spills.

Home Freshness Tips: How to Keep your Home Smelling Fresh

Hello Ghana! My name is Daphne and I am happy to connect again.

This week, I will be sharing tips on how to keep your house smelling fresh.

Everyone wants to have a clean, fresh smelling home, but regular indoor living sometimes renders that home less than fresh. Do you want to know a secret? One word. Vinegar.

Mix vinegar and water in a new spray bottle and spray to freshen a room and eliminate odors. The vinegar odor will dissipate within a few minutes taking other odors along with it.

To keep a microwave fresh and clean, put a microwavable bowl of vinegar and water in the microwave and turn on the microwave for 20 or 30 seconds. This will eliminate food odors and the microwave will easily wipe clean with a damp sponge.

Et Voila!

Home Security Tips: Come Up with a Plan

Hello Ghana!  My name is Daphne, and I am back with your daily dose of real estate tips.

It’s not enough to have security measures in place — you have to have a plan in case they fail. Sit down with your family and come up with a simple routine to help secure your home. Set rules for opening the door for strangers, locking the doors and windows whenever you leave, and using the alarm system. Make sure your kids know what to do should a break-in occur and have an exit strategy in the event of a fire or other emergency.

Home Security Tips: Adding Security Sign

Hello Ghana!  Daphne is the name, and I am back with your daily dose of real estate tips.

Let’s continue with yet another security tip for safeguarding your home from burglars.

Did you know that many security providers also include yard signs and window decals with security packages to help deter potential burglars?

If you have them, put them up. But If you don’t have a security system, weigh the pros and cons of fake signage. That will help scare off burglars.

Sometimes the belief that there’s a security system inside can be as effective as actually having one.

Home Security Tips: Eliminating Hiding Places

Hello beautiful people, its Daphne here with another home security tip.

Are you the type who likes shrubs and bushes growing around your house? Well I’ve got news for you. While shrubs and bushes may give your house curb appeal, they also provide burglars with a handy place to hide. So trim down trees and plants close to your home that could be used for cover and opt for smaller flowers instead.

Remember not to cut down trees completely ooo, just keep them well trimmed enough such that they will not to provide a hiding place for burglars.
